Francesca Poropat | contralto
Francesca Poropat was born in Venice, where she obtained her degree in Singing at the Conservatoire "B. Marcello" in 1999.
From 2000 she participates in the Choir of the Fenice Theatre in Venice.
In 2001 she won a scholarschip at the "XIX concorso di musica vocale da camera Città di Conegliano". She has performed in many concerts with small vocal ensembles, including "Cuiusvis Toni Quartet", the repertoire of which includes works from W. A. Mozart, F. Schubert and G. Rossini as well as the quartet with piano written for "Cuiusvis.." by C. Ambrosini with lyrics by A. Zanzotto.
She has interpreted lyric, chamber and sacred pieces, including the MISSA IN TEMPORE BELLI composed by F. J. Haydn, conducted by G. Tourniaire (2002); NUNC DIMITTIS by B. Galuppi, conducted by C. Scimone (2005), both of which with the orchestra and choir of the Fenice Theatre in Venice; the MESSA DI GLORIA written by G. Rossini, conducted by J. L. Coboz (2004) with the orchestra and choir of the Opera Theatre in Rome.
With the Diapason Ensemble she has performed the "TROIS CHANSONS DE BILITIS" composed by C. Debussy (2003). Furthermore she has interpreted the role of Artabano in the opera ARTASERSE written by J. H. Hasse, in a production of the "Il Farinello" association (2004). In October 2006 she won the Special "Silvio Omizzolo" Price at the chamber music contest dedicated to this musician.
In the contemporary field she has performed works written by L. Andriessen, C. Ambrosini, M. Di Bari, G. Pauletta, S. Omizzolo, F. Perocco, L. Tomio, D. Sibilla and F. Costanza.
