Michele Morao | horn
Michele Morao obtained his degree in horn at the State Academy of music "Agostino Steffani" in Castelfranco Veneto in July 1988, under the guidance of Maestro R. Trame.
In 1991 he studied at the Musical School in Portugruaro, perfectioning his performance, under the supervision of Maestro Ifor James. In 1992 he followed a Masterclass in Ascoli Piceno, under guidance of Hector McDonald, before studying at Bobbio, with Maestro Michael Hoeltzel.
During some years he has worked as an instrumentalist at the Conservatoires of Padua, Venice and Castelfranco Veneto, at the Orchestra of the Fenice Theatre in Venice, at the Chamber Orchestra of Padua and Venice and with various regional groups performing in a range of musical styles (classical music, opera's, chamber music, music for movies etc.). Furthermore, he has an active performing life, conducting and performing in various groups. In the period from February to April 2002 he participated in the "Conducting and Orchestrating for bands" seminar at the "Cesare Pollini" Conservatoire in Padua. He is currently a member of the "Nuova Banda del Castelfranco".
In 2004 his music was recorded at SiSol Records for the "Latin Jazz Band", and in 2006 he worked with the same company for the "Janbrass". At this moment he collaborates with "L'Arsenale", "Daphne Chamber Orchestra", Philharmonic Orchestra "Enrico Segattini", Orchestra "Tullio Serafin", "Accademia del Concerto", "Asolo Musica", Gruppo Musica Contemporanea Steffani (GMCS), Orchestra "Gruppo d'Archi Veneto", "MousikË", "Steffani Wind Ensemble", "Enjoy Orchestra", "Symphony Orchestra" and Musical Foundation "Masiero e Centanin".
Furthermore, he participated in seminars in contemporary music given by Marek Choloniewski (Music Academy of Cracow) in 2007 and by John Yannelli (Sarah Lawerence College - New York) in 2008. He is currently following the Biennial Course (Academic degree of the second level) at the Conservatoire "A. Steffani" in Castelfranco Veneto.
