Silvia Toffano | soprano

Silvia Toffano obtained her singing degree under the guidance of Luisa Giannini at the Conservatoire "A. Buzzolla" of Adria (RO). In the same school, she took a further, higher level, biennial course in Vocal chamber music.
She deepened her knowledge on the vocal chamber repertoire following Masterclasses given by professors L. De Lisi, M. D'Ambroso (mélodie française) and B. Renzikowski (german Lied). She improved her lyric repertoire under M. Trombetta and L. Mazzaria, and her Renaissance and Baroque repertoire under C. Ansermet and M. Lonardi.
She collaborates on a regular basis with the ensemble "La Stagione Armonica", also as a soloist, as well as with many other ensembles.
She has performed under conductors such as S. Balestracci, G. De Lorenzo, C. Del Frate, R. Favero, M. Radulescu and R. Zarpellon.
During the "Feste Musicali di San Rocco" in Venice, she interpreted the Ancient Boat Songs of the 17th century. With the association "BEL.TEATRO" of Padua, she participated to the play "De Pava e del Pavan - Viaggio nel mondo del Ruzante" (performance with songs and dances on texts of A. Beolco, known as Ruzante, and other Venetian authors of the 16th century).
In 2009, as choir member of La Stagione Armonica, she collaborated with Maestro Riccardo Muti and the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini in the performance of the Missa Defunctorum of Giovanni Paisiello in Salzburg, during the Salzburger Festspiele, in Ravenna, during the Ravenna Festival, and in Florence, Piacenza and Udine.
She is a member of the contemporary music ensemble L'arsenale of Treviso, directed by Filippo Perocco.
Her repertoire includes Mass in B minor BWV 232 (conducted by M. Radulescu), Magnificat in D major BWV 243, Jesu meine Freude by J. S. Bach; Magnificat by B. Galuppi; Dixit Dominus HWV 232 by G. F. Haendel accompanied by the Orchestra of Padua and Venetia; Gloria RV 589 by A. Vivaldi; Jephte by G. Carissimi; Missa Azzolina by O. Benevoli; Amfiparnaso by O. Vecchi; Laudate pueri Dominum by A. Steffani; Mess in G major D167 by F. Schubert; Choral Fantasy op. 80 by L. van Beethoven; Les Nuits d'étè op. 7 for orch. by H. Berlioz; Messa dei Patriarchi (2003) by O. Di Piazza.
